Zenitar mc 16mm f2.8 fisheye is soviet lens designed for zenit. This is a multi-coated fisheye lens that produce dramatic 180 degree perspective. This particular copy is a very good copy with excellent color, contrast and sharpness (refer to the photo 5& 6 above taken with this lens using canon 5d). Note that this is a very versitile lens.
You can use the fisheye effect of this lens very creatively for dramatic or even comical style (refer to photo 6 above which combine the fisheye effect with the technique of moving the camera during long exposure) or you can shoot with this lens with the aim of taking picture with a sweeping view that resembles ultra-wide rectilinear lens by keeping the horizon right in the middle of the frame+cropping (refer to photo 5 above). I would give it an excellent rating in photo quality, mechanical quality and aesthetic quality.
Glass is very clean without fungus or haze. The sale includes the lens, both caps, 3 filters, padded carrying bag and the original box and manual. For cropped sensor dslr user, this combination will give you the full spectrum of wide angle lens to cover from environmental portrait to wonderful landscape. Note that this is the best value fisheye lens with great quality currently available, for fisheye lens generally cost >us$600 no matter which brand you are talking about.
And this particular one is noted to be far sharper (with far less color fringes [lateral chromatic aberration]) than the nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye at most-often-use apertures from f/11-f/22 refer to ken rockwell’s review on this lens. And above all, for those who may be skeptical in the quality control of 3rd party brand like zenit, note that this is a used (= tested) copy to be razor sharp (refer to photo 5 & 6 above)!
